what we do
Our speech pathologists have expert knowledge in the assessment and treatment of language, stuttering, speech and literacy difficulties. We can come to you and help your child reach their communicative potential!
Language
The ability to express wants and needs verbally as well as the understanding of
what is said.
Stuttering
When the flow in speech is involuntarily disrupted. The types of disfluencies
include repetitions, prolongations, blocks and superfluous behaviours.
Speech
The ability to correctly produce and use speech sounds. Clear articulation ensures your child is able to be understood.
Literacy
When children are able to read, write and spell. Literacy is important for children
to recognise words and interpret what they are reading.
ABOUT US
Emily - Speech Pathologist
Emily studied at the Australian Catholic University where she acquired a Bachelor of Speech Pathology. Excelling across paediatric subjects, she developed a passionate for helping children communicate effectively. Since graduating, Emily has completed Hanen ‘It Takes Two to Talk’, Lidcombe Program and Sound-Write training. She has extensive experience working with children between 0-12 years across a variety of settings including schools and community health.
Emily is devoted to providing family centred care and evidence based intervention to support children in achieving their communication goals. Her collaborative and enthusiastic approach, engages children during therapy. Emily understands the time constraints of busy parents which ensures that home programs are functional, play based and fun.
Outside of speech pathology, Emily is a huge Sydney Swans AFL fan, enjoys going to the beach and doing reformer pilates.
